Are you getting this message after installing Google Now Launcher: "Trebuchet is currently your default launcher. To try the Google Now Launcher, go to Settings, touch Clear Defaults and press the Home button"?
Or the Clear Defaults option is greyed out for Trebuchet?

- Install Google Search first, then open it and configure it.
- Install Google Now Launcher.
- Restart your phone.
- Press the home button, voila you get to choose your launcher now.
